Stuck in support or QA
You understand software, bugs, and tools, but want the skills to move from supporting products to helping build them.
Working adults who need structure

Common concerns, answered
Do I need any tech experience?
No. You start from the basics — how the web works, then HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, step by step. What you do need is commitment: this is a serious, full-time-equivalent program, and the students who finish are the ones who show up and put in the hours. Come ready to work and we'll take you from zero to job-ready.
Can I keep working while I study?
Yes — that's how it's built. Classes run evenings and online, so most of our students stay in their current jobs throughout the program. You study around your life, not the other way around.
Is this diploma recognized by employers?
InnoTech is a licensed Alberta career college, and the diploma is Alberta-licensed. For newcomers especially: this is a real, recognized Canadian credential — not an online certificate — backed by a regulated institution with campuses in Calgary and Edmonton.
How would I afford it?
You may qualify for Alberta Student Aid, federal student loans, grants, bursaries, and scholarships — and women entering tech can apply for a bursary covering 50% of tuition. Our admissions team walks every student through the options that apply to them. Just ask on your call.

What you'll learn
You'll learn how real websites and web applications are built — from what users see, to what happens behind the scenes, to how data is stored, to how apps are deployed.

The visual layer your users click, read, and interact with. You'll structure pages with HTML, style and lay them out with CSS, make them work on any screen size, and add interactivity and dynamic interfaces with JavaScript and React. By the end you can turn a design into a working, responsive web interface.
Tools you'll use

Everything that happens behind the screen to make an app actually work. You'll write server-side logic, build and connect APIs, handle user accounts and authentication, and wire the front-end to the data and services it needs. This is where a static page becomes a real application that does things.
Tools you'll use

Where your application's data is stored, organized, and retrieved. You'll design tables and relationships, write queries to create, read, update, and delete data, and connect a database to your app so user information is saved reliably, searched, and updated. Good data structure is what keeps an app fast and trustworthy.
Tools you'll use

Taking a finished app off your laptop and putting it live on the internet. You'll use Git for version control and collaboration, deploy your project to the cloud, and learn the hosting and cloud basics that get a real app to a public URL — the final step that turns your work into something you can show employers.
Tools you'll use
The tools and technologies you'll actually use
The curriculum is built around practical tools used across modern web development, so students build both fundamentals and job-relevant exposure.
